PCs get Wavi Xtion motion interface device

Poor PC gamers often get forgotten in the world of PS3 and 360 and its no different with motion gaming. There's the Wii, the Kinect and Move

And now the Wavi Xtion.

Prime Sense, an Isreal-based company which licensed core Kinetic technology to Microsoft, announced that it is teaming up with PC and peripheral makers Asus to create a motion interface device for PC.

Unfortunately though I was telling a bit of a fib then. The motion controller is coming but it's not for gaming, but for browsing and accessing content on the PC.

The system is set to be launched in the second quarter, but the companies haven’t released pricing info yet.

In terms of gaming hopefully someone will be able to mod the Wavi when it arrives so that it can be used for gaming as well as browsing but if that fails maybe we will see Kinect for the PC. There has been rumours.

  • I recon we’ll all be using PC’s like they do in minority report. This will be amazing.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
