Yesterday we told you that Windows Live Hotmail problems which started on December 30th and affected 17,355 accounts (some of them having all of their accounts and mail deleted) was being fixed by Microsoft.
"We’re very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused to you, our customers and partners.” They said and assured us that all accounts will be accessible as soon as possible.
What they didn't do though was explain what it was which had caused the problems.
But now all has been revealed. Chris Jones, a corporate vice president with Windows Live Engineering said that the issues stemmed from mailbox load balancing between servers.
No neither do I. But the point is it's their SQL severs fault that you lost your mail.
I stand by what I said yesterday; go to Google. That is until the same thing happens to their mail, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

There has been a problem with there server since at least the beginning of December. I am currently helping a friend to try to retrieve her account, she has been locked out since December 5. The last response we have had from the Redmond boys was December 18, its as if they just abandoned the case.
Much of the talk in the MS/hotmail forums is of hacker talk…accounts that have been compromised…hacked…hijacked.
its a real cute problem…the person who took over the account has changed information in the account such as the “secret question and answer” so the real owner of the account can not authenticate with any Microsoft authentication challenge.
I know this could happen to anyone but I always say Gmail is best, people are just hungry to screw with MS and hotmail is always having issues.
