HTC Thunderbolt 4G Could Be Dual-Core With Gingerbread

A couple of days ago the HTC Thunderbolt 4G was discovered, which was believed to be Verizon's answer to the Evo 4G. Little was known about the device at the time though, with only the 4.3-inch screen and kick-stand to really be pointed out.

However, it seems the Thunderbolt may be giving a little competition in power to the upcoming LG Optimus 2X as a supposed leak from a German retailer's system has said that it will be HTC's first dual-core device (which uses a 1.2GHz MSM8960 processor). There is also word that the device will not be Verizon exclusive with rumours of the smartphone being available on O2, Deutsche Telekom, and Vodafone.

Although the dual-core is definitely going to be a core feature of the smartphone, the leak has also revealed that the device will be able to record and playback 1080p video, hold 16GB of internal storage, and a little speaker will feature in the device's kickstand.

The Thunderbold is also rumoured to be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and is expected to be announced at CES next week by Verizon.
