Samsung is looking to expand its Galaxy portfolio. The company has a series of mobile handsets and a tablet under this moniker and has achieved great success with the line-up. According to the latest news, Samsung is looking to add a media player and would be debuting it during the Consumer Electronics Show '11.
We can safely assume that Samsung is planning to emulate the Apple's strategy of offering iPod Touch as "an iPhone without phone". However, Samsung's earlier attempt had miserably failed since Galaxy media player had considerably lower specifications than its Galaxy S smartphone. But the new media player will feature Android 2.2 or FroYo and will also have 1 GHz processor. This 4" media player will have Clear LCD instead of AMOLED.
Samsung has also added a 3.2 Megapixel rear camera to its player. Plus it also has a front facing camera for video conferencing. The company has not announced pricing details for its new device. So, what do you think? Would this product meet the same success level attained by its same name bearing mobile phones and tab?
