Apple definitely likes patenting every little idea they have, but recently a large number of camera related patents have been revealed, giving us a very good idea of the kind of features we can expect for the camera of the iPhone 5 or iPad 2.
With iOS 4.0 introduction HDR photos for the iPhone, it's no surprise that Apple would want to 1-up themselves to give the iPhone 5 and the rumoured-to-be-camera-clad iPad 2 the best possible cameras to compete in the smartphone and tablet markets respectively.
Jack Purcher from Patently Apple has managed to put together quite a collection of the various camera related patents that have been found, and has flagged three patents which are particularly interesting. This could perhaps give us a better idea of what's to come in Apple's next generation devices.
The first is a patent for an app which masks skin tones to avoid pale skinned photos from the camera's flash. The second is an app for correcting blurry photos, which would be very much appreciated by the phone snap addict, and finally a patent for reducing noise in iPhone snaps.
With Apple tending to keep ahead of the game with smartphones and launching the tablet revolution, we expect to see a big change in what the camera of the upcoming devices will bring us.
