It seems Microsoft is one step ahead of themselves at the moment as in February 2011 at the Mobile World Congress it is expected that a second major update to the mobile OS Windows Phone 7 will be brought to its users.
This may seem strange to some and rightly so. Microsoft hasn't actually released their first update to WP7 yet, which everyone is desperately hoping to get their copy and paste desires from. This first update is expected to be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
The rumour is coming from WinRumours, who say that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is keynoting the MWC event next year in Febraury, which would also mark the one year anniversary of the announcement of WP7.
The second update is rumoured to be offering added customisation options for users' phones and extra API hooks and controls which will aid developers in creating better apps for the Microsoft Mobile OS.
As long as these updates don't pull any Android-esque update shenanigans, Microsoft could be on the right tracks for a steady OS with little room for complaints which can take on Apple and Google.
