Microsoft has announced enhanced privacy options for the upcoming version of Internet Explorer i.e. of IE9. The latest feature will help users in preventing third-party tracking of their online footprints. The company said that with the new feature, internet users can tweak their options and thus can stop third-party websites from snooping onto their online activities. The feature will be integrated in the test version of the browser, which is expected to be released early next year.
However, the default option will have Tracking Protection in off mode. You will be required to create a list of websites which you do not want to be tracked by. The move has likely come in response to increased pressure from The US FTC which is now vocally advocating for online "Do Not Track" option.
Microsoft did not include this option in an earlier version of Internet Explorer 9. The version was released in September this year. Currently, Internet Explorer is the most widely used browser in the US. Other close competitors are Mozilla's Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
