Spotify US launch delayed, again.

Isn't it annoying when the U.S gets all the latest gadgets before us? Well it's time for revenge. Our much loved Spotify is crossing the Atlantic, but God knows when…

America has been waiting patiently for the European music streaming service but its launch has been plagued with delays, and now it has been confirmed that Spotify won't be going anywhere this year (as was previously promised.)

According to reports, Spotify hasn’t actually signed a single licensing agreement with any music publishers hence the many changes in deadlines.

With Apple rumored to be readying a cloud-based streaming version of iTunes Spotify better get a move on.

Currently Spotify have got 750,000 paying subscribers who cough up £10 a month for the streaming service. Spotify has said that when the service eventually launches in the States, it’ll cost $10 a month, if it ever does arrive that is.

Are you a US reader? If so what do you think about Spotify? would you be willing to cough up $10 a month?

USA have Pandora that was cruelly snatched from us outside USA so they can’t complain.

  • Very sad about Spotify not coming to America for a while. I would definitely pay $10 a month for Spotify, having experienced it, I am very sad to see that I can not search a song and it just pop up anymore.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
