My family have always been big on games night, and one of the staple games of my childhood was the big classic – Monopoly. Monopoly is now a whopping 75 years old, and to celebrate it’s been revolutionised!
Gone is the argument over who will play banker – an electronic game board has been created which uses credit cards rather than ‘real’ money. Gone is the well known London themed square board in favour of a circular one based on Atlantic City. And gone is the need to boom out ‘Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200’, as sound effects like a clanking jail door and music from the past five decades has been added to liven things up. Luckily the game pieces are still the same boot, dog, car and so forth, just funked up for the 21st century.
