'Wireless Leash' For Your Mobile Phone: Finally Makes it to the UK

Zomm, which has been described by its makers as "the world's first wireless leash for mobile phones" first made a splash at thisyear's CES. The product had won the Best Innovation award there. So, after a long wait, the product has finally reached the UK too. This multi-purpose product is primarily meant to be used as a Bluetooth alarm keyring. Alternatively, it can also be used as a personal safety device and Bluetooth speakerphone.

For using this device, you need to pair it with your Bluetooth enabled phone and then you can set up the boundaries for your phone within the range of 9m to 20m. Once your phone is out of this range, the device will send out the warning. No more forgotten phones! The device can also work as Bluetooth headset and has built-in noise cancelling mechanism in it. Zomm features usual set up and thus is easy to operate.

Yet another feature of this small device is related to your personal safety. If you are in trouble and thus want to warn people, all you have to do is to press down Z button for 9 seconds and the device will sound an alarm. If you hold this button for 3 more seconds, then the device lets you place an emergency call.

The product sounds like a great Christmas gift and can be bought from the official website of Zomm.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
