Dwolla has come up with a new online payment system which is closely integrated with Facebook and Twitter. Dwolla is a peer to peer payment system and is available on web as well as in the form of mobile apps. Under the new service, all you need to do is to send a message or direct message your friends and send them a link, which they can use to retrieve the payment sent by you. Dwolla has added extra layers of security and the service costs only 25 cents per transfer.

In cases where both the senders and receivers have Dwolla account, then the fee is paid by the sender. However, if only sender has the account then receiver will be accountable for paying the charges.

The company has said that its integration with social networking sites will help making the service more personal and will garner more confidence. The company has recently received $1 million funding from Veridian Credit Union. So, now Facebook and Twitter has one more service added to their cap.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
