Are you a natural leader? (key-word being natural.) Apparently science can tell you. Specially designed questionnaires have been around for decades but Reading University and Henley business school are taking things a step further and using brain scans to detect leadership potential in business men/women.
Professor Douglas Saddy of Reading’s Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics watches a business person pressing a keypad to make various financial decisions.
The businessman in the video (watch below) for instance is being asked to make a judgement about whether a short-term reward would be better than a long-term reward.
While he presses the keypad his brain activity is being measured. The results of this and a number of other scans will be aggregated to try to draw out some lessons on how the mind of a leader works.
It all sounds a bit horrible to me. Have they ever heard of eugenics? Anyway before you get killed for having an inferior brain check out the fantastic name of the guy from Henley's business school.
