Some Nokia N8 smartphones have been hit by a rather annoying fault. Affected handsets are turning themselves off and refusing to turn on after charging.
Praise to Nokia though who have swiftly identified a manufacturing problem and have promised to replace the 'small' number of affected phones.
The issue is covered by the standard warranty, and 'affected N8 owners should turn to Nokia’s care centers'
The problem is said to be connected to the way Nokia assembles the phones’ main circuit board. To address the issue Nokia has taken measures across the product line.
The N8 will be an important product for Nokia during the holiday shopping season, and issues like this can have a negative impact if they aren’t dealt with in a swift manner, according to Roberta Cozza, principal analyst at Gartner. Nokia has to be careful, she said.
“It has been selling well in France, but just OK in Germany and the U.K. Also, the phone seems to be in short supply,” said Cozza.
Well Nokia have identified, admitted and solved the problem so I think they've dealt with it effectively. It's a big thumbs up to them in an Ostrich ran industry. You know what I mean, companies refusing to tackle problems, burying their head in the sand, like, Oh I don't know, Apple for example.

If this problem had been on the iPhone there would be hundreds of blogs, dedicated sites and youtube videos.
