Xbox is finally showing its might and according to a recent survey conducted by NPD Group, the game console's sales this Octoberwere higher than last year's. However, video games industry itself has hit a rough patch with its sales plunging 4 percent during the month. Software sales and accessory sales did well and were up 6 percent and 18 percent, but console sales were down 26 percent. The only saving grace was Xbox 360, which was the only console to show year over year growth in the month. It also outpaced Wii and PS3 for the fifth straight month.
Microsoft had recently announced that it has crossed one million unit mark for its "Kinect for Xbox 360" sales. The company expects to sell 4 million more Kinect units before the end of the year. NBA 2K11 for Xbox, Wii and PS was the most sold video game in the month of October, followed by Fallour: New Vegas and Medal of Honor. Fable III and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II rounded up the top five spots. So fellas, seems like video gaming industry is crying out for your helping hand.
