Move on Generic Social Networking, it is time for specialized networks. Although, Apple's music-centric social networking venturePing did not garner much favor from the users, but it has not dissuaded Microsoft from going ahead with its plans of making its gaming services more social. Apparently, the company is looking to create a new online gaming center and is planning to tie it with not only users' Windows Live and Facebook accounts but also with its search engine Bing.
Microsoft recently announced that using this hub, the users can invite their Facebook and Windows Live friends for playing games. Of course, there is usual facility of bragging about you 'awesome' scores and achievements. Microsoft is following the lead of various social games available on Facebook and other social media sites. The games such as "Farmville" and "Mafia Wars" have met with astounding success.
Microsoft has had reasonable success with its new "Kinect for Xbox 360". Now it is the time to see how its foray into social gaming works out.
