Forget Black Friday, here comes the cyber-Monday! According to a recent report, UK shoppers are likely to spend as much as £537 million on the frenzied day. This amounts to £22.4 million per hour. The shopping crazy day of November 29 is also expected to gross 29 percent higher than the Manic Monday last year.
Shoppers are certainly getting more comfortable with online shopping as online Christmas this time is expected to be 28.8 percent higher than last year's and shoppers are going to spend impressive £11.5 billion on their online shopping spree. So, essentially 17 percent of the total holiday spending budget will be spent online. Traditional retailers are still going to get the major share of Christmas shopping at £57.2 billion, but the trend is encouraging and the online share is likely to increase in coming year.
The survey was conducted by the Centre for Retail Research or CRR for online shopping comparison website Kelkoo. So, what is on your shopping list this time?
