When you are paying for one of the better smartphones around which also happen to be using one of the best operating systems around, it can be very frustrating when updates don't come for it just because your network or manufacturer is neglecting it simply because it is dated (to an extent anyway). This frustration is thankfully over for any Dell Streak and HTC Legend users who will be receiving Google's soon not to be most recent Android version, 2.2 Froyo.
The Dell Streak which has been around since Android 1.6 is finally receiving the update from Dell themselves. The Froyo update which should be coming out OTA over the next few weeks has reportedly been brought to the users thanks to a string of customer complaints which complained about the device being out of touch and wanting to catch up with the big boys.
The HTC Legend on the other hand is receiving its update courtesy of Vodafone, which coincidently Vodafone has started dishing out today. There were also some worries about the device being overlooked after its more popular friend, the HTC Desire but it seems Vodafone have given the Legend some love.
So if you're the owner of one of these devices, make sure you check for the update and enjoy what Google's Android 2.2 Froyo has to offer before their 2.3 Gingerbread update makes you feel obsolete again.
