Late last week we told you about the rather big WiFi problem attached to the Gold Master version of Apple’s latest iOS – version 4.2 – which developers have received pre-emptively to release dates. This bug gave us the impression that the newest iOS update could be delayed multiple times this month with some previously rumoured release dates already being passed (in fact today was supposedly another release date rumour). However, it seems like Apple were incredibly quick on the ball, sorting out the problem within the day with a new Gold Master version already in developer’s hands.

It seems Steve Jobs has managed to play it safe in giving the release time of the newest Apple OS with a vague November release. Apple is yet to announce any official dates that the newest OS would come out in, but with this quickly fixed version of the Gold Master it wouldn’t be too wrong to assume we could be seeing the update sometime this week. Of course, we’ll be on the ball with checking out any official announcements from Apple themselves but we still have a good 15 days before expressing any concern for the new OS.

iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is set to bring “100+ new features and innovations” for the devices with some big changes including; Multitasking with apps, AirPrint for wireless printing, AirPlay for interaction with the Apple TV and AirPlay speakers, and easier folder management. It’s going to be a big one, and Apple aren’t looking to disappoint (as long as no other huge bugs are discovered).

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
