Google Search App Now Available On Windows Phone 7

Google has released their own free search app for Windows Phone 7 which is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace. As you’d expect with many mobile OS’s, the functions on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 has been very much built around their own products. For example, IE is used for the browser, and hotmail is used for the e-mail client. But Bing, Microsoft’s own search engine could be the first of their services users may switch from due to preferences of other company services.

The free search app from Google can be pinned on your homescreen for simple one-touch access to the service, and also uses Google’s ‘Instant’ feature so you can get your results even faster. Other features include a location scanner which allows your search results to be influenced by your location, and also a feature which can research queries based on your previous searches.

If you’re not content with Microsoft’s Bing and are better acquainted with Google’s search engine, make sure you get the free download from the Windows Phone Marketplace now.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
