Apple may have 95 percent market share in the tablet segment, but the company's dominance is not going to deter other companies from entering the fray. ViewSonic has announced its two new tablets and its VewPad 10 is capable of running both Windows7 as well as Android 1.6. The tablet is equipped with 1.66GHz Atom processor, 16 GB SSD drive and 1 GB of RAM. It also has a 1024×600 pixel LED multitouch display. Both the operating systems will be pre-installed on the tablet and it will also have a videoconferencing software and Flash support.
Interestingly, ViewSonic's ViewPad 7 will ship with Android 2.2 in comparison to ViewPad 10' Android 1.6. ViewPad 7 will also have dual camera where its front facing camera has 0.3 MP resolution and rear facing camera sports 3 MP resolution. The tablet will have 512 MB RAM and its 7 inch display is WVGA LCD. Both the tablets come with microSDHC support of up to 32 GB. ViewPad 7 will be available later this year whereas for dual booting 10-inch tablet, you have to wait till 2011. Now, the price tag! ViewPad 7 will leave you $479 poorer whereas for ViewPad 10, you will have to shell out $629. So, what do you say? Do you think these tablets will hold themselves up against iPad? Let us know.
