Has the White iPhone 4 Been Cancelled?

Yesterday, we had news that the White iPhone 4 was once again being delayed until as late as 2012 because of a rather bizarre manufacturing problem around colour mismatching, and today we have heard the excuse that it is the camera that is giving the manufacturers so much hassle.

Well, try not to panic too quickly, but the White iPhone 4 may be cancelled altogether. This thought has come up after it was discovered that the White iPhone 4 has been removed from the Apple Online stores (it wasn’t available to buy or pre-order) from where it was previously listed. Although not listed in the shop any more, the opposite coloured iPhone is still featured in the iPhone 4 gallery. This news probably comes most frustratingly to those of you who have been holding out and being patient with Apple, and holding back from getting the original black version.

Even more frustrating for people who have wanted the White edition for so long is that the device does actually exist, but only a very select few people have it. There are alternative and some might say drastic measures you can take to get a White iPhone 4, but many people are likely to just cave and accept the black iPhone 4 or move onto a completely different smartphone altogether.

With a 2012 delay, it was probably likely that Apple were just putting on a date in which they couldn’t hold off any longer, and with the likeliness of an iPhone 5 coming out next year, a white iPhone 4 may feel pointless. However, this could be an opportunity for Apple to correct where they have gone wrong with the White iPhone 4 in time for a White iPhone 5 in early 2012 (or is this just wishful thinking?).

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
