RIM have been having a tough time lately when it comes to BlackBerry, the smartphone market is a not what it used to be and RIM aren't the only manufactures catering for the business market anymore. Fortunately for them, the PlayBook, their up and coming tablet device is probably going to do very well.
Nobody seems to be catering for the business users who will think a tab would be great to take on a train, to flick through the stock exchange, whack out a few emails and touch up a presentation. The focus at the moment is mass-market 'iPad killing' devices that do a bit of everything, jack-of-all-trade-tablets. I think the market is going to start splitting out, we'll see tabs designed especially for browsing, tabs for gaming, tabs for reading, we're already seeing it now.
If RIM get their foot in the door and impress the Lord Sugar lot, then the tablet has got good things coming. That's if the tablet's not rubbish.
Check out the video here and see if you think it's got what it takes.
First impressions seem okay, but we don't really get to see enough. More videos will spring up soon hopefully.
