Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Rumoured to Have iOS Elements

The next big OS change for the Mac is on its way with the Mac OS X 10.7, and with Apple's Back to Mac event which is taking place tomorrow, it seems rumours around the possibilities of tie-ins to iOS are starting to emerge. Unfortunately all we have to tell us this is an unnamed source, but they have been telling tales about OS X 10.7 Lion which are worth listening in on.

Anyway, MacStories are claimed that a "reliable source familiar with the matter" said "an iOS influence is visible in the new OS user interface", going on to say that "Apple took some elements from iOS and applied them to OS X, trying to blend everything nicely."

What these elements are have not exactly been gone into much detail from the source, but they do claim that the Mac OS X 10.7 goes for a "more minimal look" which works in a similar way to the iOS style of scroll bars and scrolling behaviour with gravitational scrolling and "pull to refresh" being brought to the Mac OS.

It is possible we will also be seeing a touch layer for the OS, after a job ad was discovered during the summer which was looking for a software engineer to create such a feature (although no further word has been obtained regarding this).

Well, these rumours can be taken with a pinch of salt, but don't worry yourself too long as it's likely we will be getting more details tomorrow at the Back to Mac event, but if you have any more thoughts on the upcoming Mac OS, let us know in the comments below.
