So, the rumor of the day is about iPad and how it is getting out of the confines of Apple Stores. According to the rumor mills, retailbehemoth is on its way to start offering iPads as early as next week. Walmart had announced its intention to carry the tablet earlier this year, and looks like it is now ready to turn into reality. With the holiday season approaching and the fact that its rival Target has already started offering iPad, we think it is about time for Walmart to take the plunge.

The tablet is expected to hit the shelves in first 1,000 stores beginning "week 37" through the end of October. Store displays are likely feature a covered "live demo unit" with a continuous video loop. The retailer will offer all six models of Apple device. However, the initial stock will be constricting to five units per model for each location. Additionally, standard accessories and AppleCare will also be on the offer.

Walmart is also looking to add 800 more stores in the month of November. This development will certainly help Apple in expanding its network. But, will it work for the retailer. Going by the lukewarm sales volume generated by Target, we are kind of wary about this.
