Nintendo 3DS is still a couple of months away from us, but that did not stop the company executives from raining on our parade. While we were salivating over all the new features, the company executive has said that the new handheld will have shorter battery life than its predecessor DS. The company chief has said, "it is inevitable that Nintendo 3DS will be a device which requires more frequent recharging than Nintendo DS.” Well, we should have seen it coming. All the goodies such as wireless tag mode, wireless updates and glasses free 3D display are not going to run on thin air.
The new device features wireless tag mode which enables it to interact with similarly capable devices within its vicinity. The company is also contemplating enabling the device for automatic firmware updates. However, the company has also offered a remedy for the draining battery. The handheld will come bundled with a charging cradle, which means every now and then someone will have to pry the device off our hands and put that into the cradle.
