With us already knowing that Microsoft is going to be showing off Windows Phone 7 in New York and London on October 11th, it's only natural we would be expecting a little more. Well according to Neowin, Microsoft Execs have been discussing their tablet plans, which include announcing, or perhaps previewing devices which should be on sale for the holiday season.
Although no hardware partners involved in making a tablet device for Microsoft have been named, they have been apparently producing devices which are "a genuine answer to the iPad" (I guess we won't be seeing any from Next then). There is speculation that the iPad's success and the fall of the netbook is hurting Windows profits.
There have been various spottings and previews of Windows 7 tablets, but nothing actually announced by Microsoft themselves. Both Dell and HP are considered likely candidates for creating the hardware for Microsoft, but we will probably hear more on the 11th on this matter.
