UK Carrier Three Launches Barebones Facebook Site

UK Telecom carrier has announced its launch of 0.facebook.com, which is the latest mobile version of the popular networking site. However, unlike its official app, you do not have to drop a dime on data access charges for using this site. However, looks like, you get what you pay for, since the new site looks pretty choppy and does not provide user experience anywhere near the regular mobile Facebook page. But, hey, it's free.

In order to make this site compact, the company has to chop down the images, which really kills the entire interface. And if you really want to access the images, then you will be directed towards the normal mobile Facebook site and with such re-direction, comes the usually levied data charges. And if all this slicing down was not enough, the new service is not meant to remain free forever. Although, the company has announced that there will be no charges for at least the next twelve months, but at the very same time it has reserved the rights alter the terms and conditions at its discretion. So, go ahead and use it while it is free.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
