European Union to Drop Antitrust Investigation on Apple. The US Still Pursues the Matter

Although it all kicked off quite a while ago, the European Union were conducting an antitrust investigation into Apple after they stopped people from using third party tools to create applications for their iOS devices.

When the App Store review guidelines were changed just recently, Apple decided to once again allow the use of third party tools to develop applications for their iOS devices. This seems to have been good enough to convince the EU that no further investigation is required because of the switch back and they are just about to drop it.

However, despite the change from Apple and the EU not pursuing matters further, the US Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission have still decided to continue their investigations into Apple, presumably still seeing grounds for suspicion.

What do you think of the antitrust investigations circling Apple's strange decisions? Should the issue be dropped completely or are the US right to keep pursuing the matter? Leave your thoughts below.
