Android keep making new operating systems available and manufacturers keep messing up the updates. It's becoming a regular story with it seeming like a new set of angry consumers appearing each week.
Sony Ericsson is the latest enemy with its popular x10 range. We're all talking about the future of Google's OS and get excited for Honeycomb and Gingerbread whilst X10 and X10 mini users are still waiting for 2.1 (Eclair) never mind Froyo.
The update was said to be coming by the end of September but now Sony Ericsson are saying 'late October' which probably means early November.
The excuse is that “we (Sony Ericsson) need a couple of more weeks before we are ready to start the roll-out.”
Users won't be happy but SE is trying to console users with promises of HD video and continuous autofocus which will be bundled into the Xperia X10 update, but on the other hand there’s also word that different configs of the phones will get the update at different times which will cause further delay.
Are you an angry X10 user?
Let us know.

If I were SE, I wouldn’t bother doing a 2.1 update now, it’s already outdated and the lack of flash support is purely a nail in the x10’s coffin. Everyone who owns an x10 (unfortunately like me) have been waiting for the update for too long already. It was a shock that flash wasn’t included, but 2.1 brings other features to the table. Now it’s delayed again, I don’t see the point in me keeping the x10. It’ll be on ebay on the 11th October, when the new HTC Desire HD comes out. I have always had SE phones, but I will seriously consider whether I ever buy another. The ongoign support for their products is becoming rediculous!
I have an X10 and am not exactly happy that the upgrade is delayed, but then again I’ve had a look at what exactly 2.1 or 2.2 provide… not a lot is the answer. You get live wallpapers, big deal, you get HTML 5 so what there arent any sites. You get Flash mobile, but you can’t use it because you can only really watch Flash sites optimesed for Mobile and there aren’t any. When you watch normal Flash sites/video on an Android device they run at about 1 frame per second. I think the X10 is amazing. No other phone manages communication on the classic channels (phoning, messaging and e-mail) and the new ones like Facebook and twitter as cool and fast as the X10.
