Intel Drops Its Employees From the Top of its HQ

You may remember the 2009 Intel Cannonbells viral where daredevil employees were loaded into cannons and fired at chimes in order to reproduce the famous Intel tune. Well if you haven't check it out.

Well following its success a new viral video has been produced called; Bass Jump.

The Bass Jump viral features five Intel staff at the HQ in Romania who create the world's largest Intel bong, as they fall from a rooftop onto inflatable cushions.

As each one lands, the gust of air triggers a horn blast, with the five notes mirroring the well-known Intel sequence. There's no point me talking about it just go ahead and scroll down and give it a view. It looks like great fun to me. Anyone know if there's a job going at Intel?

There is a point to the viral though. It is designed to create a humorous take on Intel's 'Sponsors of Tomorrow' campaign, which emphasises Intel's latest technological innovations.

According to the tech company, it also shows the 'human aspect' of their work, i.e. they're proving that Intel isn't simply run by robots but actually by maniacs that fire themselves from cannons and drop from six story buildings for fun.

Check out the video for yourselves…

The Bass Jump website here features the main video plus behind-the-scenes footage and profiles of the characters involved, as well as a link to a Flash-based game in which the player must correctly time the five jumpers in order to get the chime to sound right.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
