Things got a little out of hand when Dell released Android 2.1 update for O2. Apparently, the company tried to save its users from a
little hard work and provided them with pre-rooted Android update. Yes, you read it right. However, O2 decided to act a bit coy and said that the update has been pulled due to the "feedback from users". Although, no fixed date has been given for the re-release, but it is expected that O2 Streak will have to wait for 2 to 3 more weeks for getting the new version of the OS.
Streak is having a tough time as it is, since it took the tablet so long to get the Éclair. And with this new trouble, things don't seem to be getting any better for it. With the holiday season approaching, we are expecting the tablet segment to be flooded with new offerings. Among the most-anticipated releases are NotionInk's Adam and HTC Verizon tablet. If Streak does not manage to get Froyo update by that time, then it will be difficult for the tablet to fight the competition. Watch out for the competition.

yes they need to sort out the problem first before relaunching it again,i had a streak when i update it to 2.1 the phone doesn’t work ,dell support can’t even fixed it thru the phone conversation (waste of time and money) at the end arranged to pick up the phone for service ,phone was been sent to Hungary for repair( i’m here in UK) u know what waited until 2 weeks before receiving the phone and saddest thing happen no battery sent by the company who fixed my phone (unable to check whether it’s been fixed) contacted dell /the company who fix the phone waited for 5 days for the battery to arrive ,finally phone is working but not been updated to 2.1 ,instead it still on 1.6. check for update but when i check it 02 pulled out the update already. 02 and dell should communicate whether it’s time to release the update ,not just doing it without testing and solving the uncompatibility issues to the streak phone. overall not happy with 02 and dell service. i should rather get iphone 4 instead(at least they admit mistakes and was given an iphone case to their customer as show of their sincerity to their customers) dell should folow the way iphone solved their problems. my advice don’t buy the streak yet till the problem solved,have a look around first,think twice whether streak is for you or not.streak phone is very nice gadget if they can solved all the problems and change how they handle their customers.they should think without us(buyer/customer) they are nothing!
