Microsoft has eventually decided to expand its Zune Service internationally. The company is looking to introduce the service to new markets including the UK, France, Spain and Italy, this fall. Zune 4.7, which is the desktop sync client for Windows Phone 7 Devices, is likely to be available in 20 markets. However, the company will have to draw individual agreements for the service with each new market. Zune 4.7 will feature smart DJ 3, which will make playlists out of your music collection and pepper it with suggested music that you can buy from Zune Marketplace. It will also let the users stream high-def movies directly to a Windows PC.

However, Microsoft has pruned the international version a bit. The Zune Pass service will be available for £8.99 or €9.99 per month. However, unlike in the US, this pass will not let you keep 10 tracks a month. Bummer! Different countries will get different combination of services. But in the UK, you will be able to do it all with music purchase, video purchase and video rental facility. Zune also provides full integration of Windows PC, Zune and Xbox LIVE. So, are you ready for some fun?

4 years too late. I hate waiting a few months for Yank stuff to make it over here, 4 years is too much. Anyone who wanted one would have imported one.

Microsoft don’t care much about the non US market it would seem.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
