HTC Enhances Sense with Cloud Computing Features

HTC has just released its Desire Z and Desire HD. Both phones sports Android 2.2 and pumped-up version of its UI, HTC Sense. Thecompany has introduced new e-bookstore feature, which is powered by Kobo. The new Sense also offer customized, instant mapping via its new service HTC Locations. The new feature is expected to be faster as there is no need to download mapping data. You can also try to retrieve your lost or stolen phone by making it ring remotely. Alternatively, you can pinpoint its location on the map.

Yet another noteworthy feature of HTC Sense is its endorsement of cloud computing. The company has offered its own cloud service, which is specifically customized for HTC phones. If you own an HTC, now you can manage and backup the data on your phone on to web via HTCSense.com. This service sounds really useful, but apart from this, there are usual frills of free wallpaper, sounds and plug-ins. HTC is likely to officially launch its new Sense in October, which is when HD and Z are expected to hit European, North American and Asian Markets.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
