Two new Android 2.2 Froyo devices have been announced by LG today - the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic. These devices are looking to be an attempt to bring the Smartphone market to a larger consumer base.
The devices were unveiled during LG's online press conference from Seoul, and it has been revealed they will be optimized for Google Mobile Services when they are released. The devices are looking to be released in 90 countries and 120 networks with Europe being the first to enjoy the devices this November.
The two devices are heavily aimed at first time Smartphone buyers, with the latest Google operating system, a user-friendly interface, and the LG Optimus One will host the LG App Advisor which will let users know the top 10 recommended apps every two weeks available from the Android market.
The specs of the devices aren't anything special, but these phones are intended for first time buyers as opposed to latest technology lovers. Both handsets use a 600MHz processor and a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen with a 320 x480p resolution. The main difference between the smartphones are their cameras, with the Optimus One using a 3-megapixel camera and the optimus Chic using a 5-megapixel one. The Chic also seems to be the superior model, with a sleek design and touch sensitive buttons.
LG's CEO Skott Ahn said: "LG is offering a gateway into the smartphone world with the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chich that offer the distinctive benefits of smartphones, in intuitive, approachable packages." So will the LG phones be what pushes you over into Smartphone territory? Maybe when the price is revealed it will be easier to sway. For now, we will just have to wait for November.

It is wrong to not include android 2.2 on all phones mainly for security reasons. Would you like the android exploit 1.6 to destroy your phone? Lg need to roll out 2.2 to all phones plus we need flash workimg now that would be the iphone killer
