Google TV is coming to the US as early as this month according to Intel CEO Paul Otellini. Although some information is already out there on the Google TV, Otellini has decided to reveal release times and talk about its upcoming competitor, Apple TV.
While speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Otellini said how much Intel had contributed to the code at the heart of the Google TV saying, "There's roughly 10 million lines of code in there. Half of that comes from Intel; the other half comes from Google."
Although Otellini revealed that we are going to be seeing Google TV "this month", he did not say in what form. Sony and Logitech have been confirmed to be shipping their Google TV kits first, there are apparently "many, many companies" waiting for release.
When asked to compare the upcoming televisions to the Apple TV, Otellini said, "I believe there are probably households that one will appeal to and the other won't. My mom might use an Apple TV because it's really simplistic. My son is probably going to buy a Google TV, simply because it's cool."
A strange answer to say the least. I find it hard to believe that someone would dish out on a Google TV just because it's "cool", show a little backbone against your opponent Otellini. Regardless, it seems Google TV will be a bit later for us UK residents with an early-2011 release date.
Are you looking forward to the Google TV or are you an Apple fan? What do you think of Otellini's comments? Leave your thoughts below.

So excited for Google TV this month, sources say the 22nd or 23rd so ill be expecting to see some kind of change there. I have never been a fan of apple other than the overall appearance of their hardware. On the other hand I hope Sony updates their blue ray players via firmware update so Google TV is integrated.
