Would You Wear the iPod Nano as a Watch?

The newest iPod nano is small, theres no argument there. But just because it's conveniently a similar size to watch face, would you wear it like one? Well if you do make sure to check out iLoveHandles, who have designed a watch strap purely for the fifth-generation PMP, with a cut out notch for the nano's clip, all for the purpose of keeping the device centred on your wrist.

The Strap design isn't exactly spectacular, but it's a simple catch-all design which only has one purpose really. There are probably a few concerns with keeping your (expensive) nano on your wrist like this; obvious display for theft, risk of it slipping off, and the awkward position of the headphone slot if you wish to use the device the way it was intended to name a few (or maybe all).

Regardless, if you are interested in the strap it can be bought for $19.95 now. Would you wear your iPod nano as a watch? Leave your thoughts below.

  • This is a neat idea. I’d certainly wear it as a watch, how cool. It would be a bit nerve-wracking to have such a device fall of your wrist but if it was totally securely fastens then it would be great. If the Nano supports Bluetooth headphones, it will be fantastic. Does anyone know if it does support bluetooth headphones?

The second it was shown on the keynote speech I thought it would make a great watch and as it has a watch app on it, I guess that Apple thought that too.

No bluetooth headphones but if you have a right angled headphone jack and wore long sleeves, you could run the cable up your arm.

It is a good idea, but the original nanowatch.dk is a lot better and in all colours of the new nano, except product Red, very secure and works brilliantly

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
