Dell Streak has Android 2.1 update troubles.

Poor O2 is taking a battering in the Android update department. Following the troubles encountered by its Android 2.2 for the HTC Desire update yesterday, O2 has once again come under criticism as an Android 2.1 update for the Dell Streak has reportedly caused a number of users to face issues with their tablet devices.

Android keep on rolling out the updates and network providers just keep messing up and leaving trails of angry consumers. We've seen it with Vodafone and 3, is there anyone left who hasn't caused update troubles of some sort?

The Dell and O2 forums have been flooded with furious users eager to replace the Android 1.6 operating system their devices were shipped with. The problem is, the update to 2.1 reportedly removes more features than it adds.

Previously stable data and installed applications are all reported victims of the Google OS upgrade with the likes of PC synchronisation, the Facebook widget and Windows Media Video playback all being damaged by the OS install.

Yesterday O2 became the latest UK network provider to begin rolling out its FroYo update for the HTC Desire handset and within hours the mobile operator was forced to disband the upgrade following a number of complaints by users whose handsets had crashed and frozen following the 2.2 addition and it seems Streak is going down the same road.

Have you had upgrade trouble? Let us know.
