Ever broke your new phone? Of course you have. That's why Motorola are attempting to save you from the annual heartbreak of realizing that nothing you do will save your phone.
They have launched a tough new phone, the Defy, which 'conforms to IP67 standards. 'It promises to be scratch, water and dust resistant.
The phone looks tough, but it isn’t designed to be a “rugged” handset. It won't be making it into the pockets of soldiers and firemen etc more for the clumsy people who drop, scratch and damage their phone all too frequently.
The Defy's no joke either. It has a 854 x 480 pixel resolution capacitive touchscreen display measuring 3.7 inches which (finished in scratch-resistant, Gorilla Glass)
The phone will come running Android 2.1 and Motoblur as well as Adobe Flash Lite included so you can view some online videos on the move. Swype is also included for fast text entry.Around the back is an impressive 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash (offering video capture at 640 x 480) resolution, plus a 800MHz processor with 2GB of onboard memory.
The Motorola Defy will be available in Q4 in the UK. No news on price yet.
Nor do we know if its had the ultimate test of being dropped in the loo.
