The 3D tablet, i-station Z3D will require glasses. Will it catch on?

With the third dimension being the big new thing forced upon technology of all types at the moment, it's no surprise that tablets are going to get the same treatment. However, despite companies like Sharp working on tablet devices which do not require glasses to view 3D content, it was inevitable that a 3D tablet which does require glasses will come first.

Korea's i-station has revealed a 7-inch Z3D, a glasses-required 3D tablet which uses Android 2.1. A lot of the specs have been revealed for device including: Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g Wifi, a 5000mAh high capacity battery, 1080p video support, DMB television, FM radio and an option of either 32GB or 64GB storage.

The Z3D isn't all there is to choose from i-Station and their 3D technology though, expect the similarly spec'd "i-station Dude" and the miniature "buddy" to eventually come our way.

The annoyance of having to carry around a pair of 3D glasses may easily be enough to put off 3D loving customers, but maybe the wait for glasses-less 3D will be too much for some. Either way, the Z3D is expecting a November launch priced at KRW 600,000 or approximately £325. What do you think of the glasses-required tablet? Leave your thoughts below.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
