Here is a new accessory for your iPad. FCC has just granted approval to an iPad case equipped with a Bluetooth keyboard. The KeyCase iPad Folio comes with an integrated Bluetooth keyboard, which can instantly turn an iPad into a netbook. The folio itself is run of the mill leather stand-up case but its built in silicone Bluetooth keyboard makes it stand out. The keyboard draws power from iPad charge cable and the manufacturer has claimed the single charge to last 90 hours. We will believe it when we see it, which is well-nigh impossible right now. Currently, there is only one retailer selling it online and the case is listed as "out of stock".
The new two-in-one case has been reasonably priced at about £60 and it has some nifty features like its keys are designed to fold against the iPad display when closed. This feature is certainly useful for saving iPad display from unsightly keyboard marks. Although, no official statement is available, but the keys are likely to be made from silicone, which means that you should not expect to get the real keyboard feeling out of this case. But hey, it's a good step in the right direction. So, what do you think, could a silicone keyboard-slash-case brandishing iPad be a netbook killer? It may or may not kill the netbook star but sure it is going to make an iPad much more viable option now.
