Google Honeycomb on its way

Let's take a look at some of Google's OS past present and future. Strangely all cakes and in alphabetical order we had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair and the current incarnation, Froyo. There's already whispers about the next version of Android, Gingerbread (3.0) which is said to be Google's software step up to tablet devices

And even though Gingerbread is still in the distance there's already talk of its follow up which is rumoured to be called Honeycomb.

We probably won't see Honeycomb late into next year so obviously it isn’t known what additions Gingerbread will bring. What the tech-sperts are hypothesising is that Honeycomb will fulfil a similar role seen in 2.2 i..e a polishing up of 2.1 which means when we see Gingerbread (and like we will) and we see some problems and bus and areas for improvement Honeycomb is the one that will resolve them.

Gingerbread is not being launched until the end of this year. Honeycomb could not be seen for a long time from now especially with Google slowing down its releases.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
