Toshiba Android 3.0 Tablet Launch Expected for September (or October)

A new day and a new tablet news. This time it is Toshiba's turn. The company is expected to roll out its Android tablet in September or October this year.

The 10 inch tablet will come equipped with Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.  However, no details about the memory and other specs are available yet. The company is looking to ship about 50,000 units of the tablet by the end of the year.

According to the rumors, the tablet will feature Android Gingerbread OS. Although, it seems unlikely if the tablet is getting a September launch. Toshiba had hinted about working on a tablet earlier this year. If the company actually manages to launch the tablet in September or October, it surely will get a head start over other eagerly-awaited tablets.

Toshiba has kept mum about the pricing, but we really hope that it will be more reasonably priced than the company's new hot item Libretto W100. The dual screen machine's limited run was launched in the US on August 16, and it is already out of stock on Amazon. The feat is impressive given the fact that the tiny tyke is priced at $1,100 each. If you are not among the lucky ones who already have snagged the latest objet d'sire, don't despair, there is still hope. Evidently, Toshiba is said to be working towards replenishing the stock, though I'd rather wait for their tablet.
