In June engadget found a leaked video of what claimed to be the Nokia N9 slide phone. As if with most leaks nothing was guaranteed and bloggers were not sure if the handset being prodded and poked in the video was what it claimed to be. The handsets various inputs such as HDMI as well as an impressive QWERTY keyboard were shown off.
But now leaked images have emerged in China and it seems that the previously unknown Nokia slider from the video was more likely the N8-01, (a slider version of the forthcoming N8.)
The latest leak does however seem convincing, engadget had the serial number from the phone checked in the Nokia database which confirmed it to be a 'Nokia prototype.'
The leaks source reports that it’s not the final version but a prototype, built in Finland. It is said to have an entirely metallic construction with only the keyboard buttons, USB cover and a few decorative parts being plastic. Check out the snaps of the N9 prototype below.
