Yahoo Sport Your One-Stop Place For All Premiership Goals

For footie fans that somehow managed to miss the opening weekend of the new Barclay's Permier League look no further than Yahoo for the best catch-up on the Internet.

Yahoo has just launched their new highlights page and will give you all the goals from the weekend's action – even Blackpool's 4-goal thriller that captured the eye of any right-minded football fan.

The streaming clips are up to five minutes in length and will catch you up in no time at all, the service was officially launched today with the help of a couple of ditsy WAG's, Nicole Tappenden and Melissa Johnson.

Mark Rabe, Managing Director, Yahoo! UK said: “Following on from the success of Yahoo!’s World Cup activity with David Beckham, our ambition for Barclays Premier League coverage is for Yahoo! to become your home for football online.

“For the casual or serious football fan, it’s the best bits of the weekend’s action – perfect to catch up on games you may have missed, for sharing with friends and for being part of the conversation at work on Monday.”

We've tried the service, which is totally free apart from the odd advert, and we have to say we really like it. There is commentary for you to listen to and the video quality is more than acceptable. We tried the service with our iPhone and iPad, and unfortunately it did not work.

But for free service it really is the best place to go if you missed Match of the day as it is not available on the iPlayer.

You’ll find it here.

Why will yahoo highlights package not work with the iPhone?

That old chestnut of lack of Flash Support, if it really takes off they may make the necessary changes. Bit of a stinker, but it has only just launched and it’s something they no doubt wrap up in an app and charge you one off for. Just the way the iPhone and iPad are destined to be.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
