Google Updates Android’s Gesture Search with 'Double Flip'

Google has added more power to its Gesture search feature for Android. The new feature has been aptly named 'Double Flip' and will be used for launching the app without leaving any other application you might be using.

The new function is easy to follow and has worked well so far. For activating this feature, go to your setting menu and customize it to meet your requirements. The new feature even has different sensitivity levels. So, now if you want to use search function, you don't have to go back to the main screen, all you need to do is to flip your phone away and then back. In its official release, Google has also said that they have fixed the existing bugs in the software.

The app is now available to be downloaded from Android Market and is free of charge.

Google introduced its Gesture Search function back in March of this year. The feature is available only on the phones running on Android 1.6 OS or above. The function was presented as a viable alternative to conventional and voice search methods.  The app is useful for reducing the time it takes to type out long search queries. The software has relatively good performance and is stable. The various setting options let you customize your search experience, as you may set parameters about which type of files need to be scanned via this function. Good to see a useful update from Google.
