iPod Nano Overheating Issues in Japan Resolved as Apple Offers Replacements

It would appear that the pressure has kicked in for Apple, as the plight by the Japanese government to get Apple to resolve the problem of first generation exploding iPod Nanos has now come to an end.

Apple have agreed that they will replace first generation iPod nano music players sold in Japan which have had issues of overheating.

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has said that the plastic black and white iPod nano players sold between September and December 2006, confirmed 27 overheating incidents during recharging, which included 6 fires and 4 people with minor burns.

So as Apple get ready to give into the Japanese Governments demands, I wonder whether this news will spiral out of control as it is likely that more customers worldwide will start to report the iPod Nano exploding issue.

Are you an iPod Nano customer been effected by the exploding/overheating issue? Leave us your thoughts below…
