iPad Contender: Motorola Android 3.0 Gingerbread Tablet Expected Next Year

The Apple iPad maybe up against some hefty competition, if this new tablet device from Motorola has anything to do about.

Details of an Android 3.0 Gingerbread tablet from Motorola have emerged up on the Boy Genius Report blog, with details of unconfirmed leaked specs.

It has been reported that the new tablet device will feature a 10 inch screen compared to the iPad’s 9.7 inch screen. Under its bonnet it is expected to include 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, as well as a front-facing camera for video calling.

If rumours are correct and the Motorola tablet is sold through Verizon’s network then we could even see it incorporating the super fast 4G LTE mobile internet options.

With the inclusion of Android’s up and coming OS, Gingerbread 3.0 expected for early next year, it has been predicted that we could see the release of the Android 3.0 tablet sometime next February. If these specs are anything to go by then I would hold this as a serious competitor for the Apple iPad and will be watching this space in the next coming months.

What do you think? Do you think the rumoured Motorola tablet has what it takes to take on the Apple iPad or is the iPad’s might to big to handle? Leave us your thoughts below…
