AT&T ‘U-verse mobile app’ available for download

AT&T have announced that its 'AT&T U-verse' mobile app is now available at the app store. The app gives U-verse subscribers the ability to download and watch TV on their iPhone; making AT&T 'the first TV provider to offer an integrated mobile app that allows you to  download and watch (selected) shows.'

The U-verse Mobile app replaces the popular Mobile Remote Access for iPhone app (which is used by more than 100,000 U-verse TV customers each month)

The app gives its users the ability to browse the U-verse TV program guide, view program descriptions and schedule and manage their DVR recordings from the iPhone.

Available episodes can be downloaded over any Wi-Fi connection and can then be watched  in full-screen mode on an iPhone, at anytime.

David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets said "We're making it possible for you to watch TV shows on your iPhone at no extra charge. It's just one more valuable and innovative feature available on U-verse TV"

The U-verse Mobile App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.

Us in  the UK though will have to put up with £6 a month to watch sports channels if we want a slice of Sky's mobile TV app.

The iPhone is  a great device for TV on the go, so let's hope we get something similar sometime soon.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
