Sony Ericsson FH Concept Phone: it flips both ways!

Even the most hardcore and nerdy of smartphone fans must be slightly fed up with constant talk of high-resolution touchscreens, firmware updates and processor speeds. Surely they must secretly crave for something fun and innovative?

Well if they are, here it is. From the company that brought us the hugely popular walkman phone comes a frankly crazy but none the less very cool concept phone.

The Sony Ericsson FH is a flip phone that pivots vertically and horizontally. It can be used as a standard clamshell style handset with the lower of the two displays acting as a number pad, or can be rotated down to make a pair of screens snap into one snazzy widescreen panel.  Giving the user a big screen than can be folded up into a slim handset.

Plus the two parts can be separated and can communicate via Bluetooth meaning the coolest walky talkies ever.

Chances are the handset will never come into fruition, but someone somewhere must be thinking 'What the world needs is a vertical/horizontal flip phone.'

We'll keep you posted on any developments but bar a Facebook protest group demanding the production of the phone, it's likely that we will hear nothing more about it.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
