Gaj-it Gaming Round up: Angry Birds, Halo Reach, Dirt 3, Medal of Honour & Battlefield 3

Following the hype and success of Angry Birds, Joe Wee, co-founder of Angry Birds developer Rovio, has announced that the highly addictive iPhone game would be a making an appearance on the PS3, PSP and Nintendo DS.

The downloadable app for the iPhone and iPad shifted 5million copies in just six months; making it the fastest selling game the iPhone has ever seen.

"When it was released last December Angry Birds made a slow start but as word got round, everyone's gone crazy for it," Wee told The Sun.

"We are also releasing it on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PS3," he added.

There is no news on whether the new versions of the game are going to exactly the same as the iPhone edition, we would imagine that it will for the hand-helds, but might get a HD lick of paint and possibly in 3D for the PS3.

Elsewhere in gaming news, Bungie, the developer behind the Halo series have told the gaming press via their blog that Halo Reach is finished.

"Assuming things go well in certification, that means the only things standing between you all and Reach are the manufacturing process and shipping the discs to stores," he said.

"It's been a long haul getting the game to this point but the team is incredibly proud of the game and can't wait to play with everyone on September 14th."

Halo Reach will be the last game in the series before, Bungie go off and start making multi-format games with Activision, who they signed a exclusive deal with and will see them leave Microsoft's Game Studios group.

Halo Reach will drop September 14th on Xbox 360 and is likely to be the biggest selling game of 2010.

Last night Codemaster's debuted the first footage of their Colin McRae Dirt series at the X-games. The Dirt 3 video featured out favourite American driver Kenny Block, from Top Gear fame, driving like a maniac around at burning lorry.

It's down for a 2011 release, although no platforms have been announced, but it's probably going to be released on the usually formats, including PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

And finally, Swedish developer, Dice, tweeted that if you purchase a limited edition of their newly revamped Medal of Honour series, you will get access to a beta for their new title Battlefield 3, within 12 months of the release of Medal of Honour.

Medal of Honour launches on October 12th in North America and October 15th in Europe for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
